This is an exhibition by Lee Karen Stow, remembering women in times of war from the First World War to the present day. It combines a portrait series of women whose lives have been affected by war, with a botanical series of the poppy flower in its national environment.

Despite its delicate appearance, the poppy is able to generate new life when everything else has been destroyed. The exhibition includes not only red but orange, yellow, pink, burgundy and the rare white poppy, to represent women worldwide caught up in war.

Poppies has Arts Council England funding to develop the content.
