Artists and designers from throughout the region have risen to the challenge posed by an intriguing title for their latest selling exhibition. The theme of Elements was chosen as the latest selling exhibition in Gallery at the Wharf, Burscough to highlight the work of members of The Art and Craft Guild of Lancashire and a group of guest artists.
Guild members who run the gallery as an artists’ collective organise a programme of themed exhibitions throughout the year to showcase and sell original painting, jewellery, ceramics, textiles and photography, all of which are on sale.
The way the artists have interpreted the title has led to a stunning display of work featuring fabric figures created from re-cycled materials, glass designs based on puddles, silk panels which invoke feelings of peace, and mixed media inspired by the subtle colours, textures and ambiguous forms of eroded and weathered beach debris.
Elements will be followed by another creative challenge – Country Matters, which starts on 31 March 2015.
