A weekend exploring the history of Special Effects in cinema and artists film over the last century – including a digitally remastered version of The Wizard of Oz introduced by one of the world’s leading voices on film, Norman M Klein; Georges Melies A Trip to the Moon; the UK premiere of Nam Jun Paik’s 9/23/69 and Jean Luc Godard’s classic Alphaville.
An exclusive recorded interview with renowned philosopher Slavoj Zizek frames a selection of shorts by artists such as Maya Deren, Semiconductor, Woody Vasulka, Hiraki Sawa, Shana Moulton & Malcolm Le Grice.
