Private View 15 March 17.30-20.00
Robert Goulden – known as Rob or Bob to family and friends – was a Liverpool artist. Rarely seen without a sketchbook throughout his life, the fifteen years which followed his early retirement until his sudden death in 2011 were his most creative and productive artistic period. He worked mainly in watercolour and pen and ink, and sometimes in acrylic. The body of his work comprises mostly land and seascapes inspired by his passion for sailing and the sea, his home city of Liverpool, a lifetime affinity with Wales, most notably Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula and Italy – particularly the Amalfi Coast.
This exhibition presents a selection of his work across these themes, spanning all periods
