In this collaborative series, items passed down from mothers and grandmothers are immersed in the Pennine landscape; as objects and contexts clash, function is twisted, memories become confused, meanings change course. By speculating with surrealism, the photographers seek to sharpen this sense that things are somehow disordered or out of place.  Held contends with the challenges and expectations of life, whilst simultaneously poking fun at notions of pressure and perfection. Each image is the manifestation of a dialogue between the two photographers, with an initial reaction to object or landscape provoking a continued exchange and re-interpretation of ideas.
