The Winter Garden by Elizabeth Willow in the Window at Bluecoat Display Centre. 1-31 December 2010.
A collection of paper and wire sculptures in the form of flowers, inspired by botanical illustration, Victorian rag-pickers and flower-sellers, the intoxicating fragrance of second-hand bookshops, and by a year spent gardening.
The pieces are painstakingly created from found and reclaimed materials, making use of a life-time’s accumulation of old paper and love of flowers.
