Our Big Gig is a community music celebration which takes place across the UK 11 – 14 July. This annual event aims to bring communities together to celebrate their local musical talents and get more involved in making music. It is the first time Aintree University Hospital has hosted “Our Big Gig”.
The event is coordinated by not for profit arts organisation “Superact” who use the arts to improve the health and wellbeing of people and communities. They work with both amateur and professional artists to deliver projects in settings such as hospitals, prison, schools, residential homes and community centres across the UK and internationally.
The event at Aintree University Hospital is being organised by local volunteers. It is free to attend and is due to last four hours long 12.00 – 16.00 on 11 July.
As of yet we have a variety of acts booked and quite a few interested; including solo singers and duets as well as larger groups across a range of genres. If anybody out there would like to get involved either as a musical volunteer or just to help out then please get in touch.
