7 July – September 2011 at 3345 Parr St. Anna DiScala Exhibition.
Viewing: Thursday 7 July 18-20.00
Though DiScala is a self-taught artist whose painting career began only six years ago, art has always been a part of her life growing up in England and Italy. Inspired by the work of Picasso, Modigliani and Matisse, her nudes and portraits are a reflection of the passion and sensuality of modern artists’ pieces. By fusing these styles together, DiScala gives them a new vibrancy and freshness which makes her oil paintings both contemporary and timeless.
The intimate setting that is 3345’s lounge bar and restaurant provides the ideal ambience for DiScala’s portraits and life drawings. Her work aspires to depict moments of excitement as well as calmness and discovery. 3345 is housed inside the famous Parr Street recording studios, the epicentre of Liverpool’s music and creative scene. The opening event will take place from 6 – 8pm with Mediterranean hors d’oeuvres and wine available.
