Coven is a mixed media collaboration between Katie Craven and Adam Scovell. The exhibition explores themes of the occult, the supernatural, and the esoteric by placing them in the context of the natural landscape. Influenced by the stories of M.R. James, the films of Kenneth Anger, and the life of Aleister Crowley, the exhibition mixes different forms of media to create a haunted experience derived from the land. Coven includes:
ï‚· Tarot (2014) – a short super 8 video work by Scovell in collaboration with Liverpool band, BIRD, and with title cards by Craven.
ï‚· A newly commissioned wall mural by Craven.
ï‚· A Screaming Breeze (2013) – a printed short ghost story by Scovell with artwork by Craven (£1.50 per copy).
ï‚· Displays of the original artwork from both Tarot and A Screaming Breeze by Craven.
ï‚· Screenings of short ghost story, The Coastal Path (2014) by Scovell.
