“Three Photographers” Exhibition
16 December 2010 – 13 March 2011
The Art Space in the 08 Place will host a photographic exhibition of the work of three local photographers, curated by Liverpool based arts organisation dot-art . “Three Photographers” showcases the work of Merseyside artists Simon Parker, Gianni Pisanu and Graeme Murray.
These diverse contributors have a wide range of background and skills, but have been selected for their use of restricted palettes while creating striking and affecting photographic prints.
Gianni, an Italian artist living in Liverpool, sums up his artistic philosophy: “In my view, less is definitely more. Leave space for the imagination is my motto and minimalism is one of my ways of life in photography. Let’s keep it simple and we will see that beyond a picture there is something more.”
Simon adds his aims in creating these works: “”To capture a fleeting moment, to compose framed visions that have become very much part of our existence. Representations of reality in which elements of abstraction occur are the main focus of what follows. Photography, for me, has become a wonderful passion that has allowed me to see the world anew. The use of light, technology, and more so now, seeing in black and white, have become my most recent areas of interest.”
Please call 0845 017 6660 or email info@dot-art.com for more information. All work is for sale starting at just £50, and admission is free.
The venue is open 10am-5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-4pm on Sunday. For any venue enquires, please call 0151 233 2459.
