Long Night of the Biennial Thursday 30 October 2008. 18-23.00
We’re staying up late to present two special projects –
a pre-midnight feast of screenings and installations.
Still Cinema 6: Light-speed travel
A special late edition of Still Cinema presents a series of short artists’ films that explore physical movement and the recording of journeys. Featuring Claude Lelouch’s cult film C’etait un rendez-vous (1976), an eight-minute drive through Paris in the early morning (inspiration for Nancy Davenport’s commission for the Liverpool Biennial) and works by artists including Magdalena Correa and Catherine Gfeller.
Details and full programme tbc.
Open Eye Projects: The Memory Conpiracy
Including video works by Rachel Reupke (UK) Francis Hunger (DE) and Ori Gersht (IL), this one-night-only gallery installation explores the relationship between stillness and movement, loops and progress, climax and repetition. With thanks to FACT (Foundation for Art & Creative Technology) for their generous support.
