On Saturday 21 February FACT is taking part in 24 Fragments – a 24-hour festival taking place at all 24 sites of The Fragmented Orchestra. All of the events are designed to be relayed through the distributed neuronal system of the Fragmented Orchestra and via the Fragmented Orchestra website.
FACT, 10.00am – Midnight
10.00am, 6.00pm and 8.00pm Public will be invited to play the software of The Fragmented Orchestra in Gallery 1.
11.00am-1.00pm Gallery One – Jane Grant, John Matthias and Nick Ryan will discuss the ideas that lead to the creation of The Fragmented Orchestra; Dr Magnus Richardson, University of Warwick will give a talk on modeling spiking neurons; Dr Paul May, The Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery will give a talk.
1.00pm-3.00pm – Liverpool Improvisation Collective
3.00pm – Dance to Cortical Songs
5.00pm – Performance of Threshold, Jane Grant
9.00pm – Philip Jeck performance
11.00pm-12.00pm – Liverpool based musicians Neil Grant and John Fisher will be remixing the remixes of Cortical Songs.
