Antti Laitinen to Sail His Bark Boat from New Brighton to A Foundation

biennial-col-150Antti Laitinen has spent the last three weeks carefully building a “Bark Boat” at A Foundation as part of the Liverpool Biennial 2010, Touched.

On Saturday 25th September 2010 this vessel made of bark collected from the forest floor in Finland will have its inaugural voyage across the Mersey. The public will be able to see this voyage at a number of key points and can welcome the boat back to A Foundation for 12.00.

The schedule of the Voyage is as follows:
07.30 Launch New Brighton Lifeboat Station.
09.00 The Bark Boat passes the Pier Head.
11.00 The Bark Boat arrives at Brunswick Dock.
12.00 The Bark Boat returns to A Foundation.
