Liverpool Artwork of the Day – Friday November 9 2007. ‘Anglican Cathedral’ by Xia Lu in ‘Artists & Identity’ at The Grange until December 22 2007
Xia Lu interprets contemporary landscape with the technique of traditional Chinese art.
She is a trained architect and teacher of Qi Gong, the 2000 year old Chinese discipline which gathers natural energy through movement and breathing.
These pictures reflect Xia Lu’s training, combining the precision of an architect’s eye with freeflowing brushstrokes which mirror the concentration and expression of Qi Gong.
