Opening the city’s official birthday celebrations, Liverpool welcomes a civic procession of international dignitaries and special guests, including representatives from the twin cities of Dublin, Shanghai and Cologne.

Liverpool’s most famous landmark? The people.
The community pageant will celebrate the people of Liverpool today, as well as the unforgettable icons and achievements of the past. 1,500 people will be recreating Merseyside days gone by.

FESTIVAL SQUARES
TIME: 1- 4pm
As the party continues, pageant participants will head to Festival Squares. An array of live music, interactive art, themed entertainment, plus a food and drink market will fill the streets of Liverpool city centre.

FIREWORK DISPLAY
TIME: 10pm
Prepare for an explosion of colour against the world famous skyline as Liverpool celebrates with a spectacular firework display, set to the anthemic soundtrack broadcast live on Radio City 96.7.
