A unique art exhibition organised by Unite to Care turned out to be a huge success last Saturday evening.  This shows what people can achieve when they feel passionately about something, and a great way to express that passion is through art.

It was held in Liverpool’s Coral Centre and was a fun event which also included live music, featuring local musicians and a glass of wine or two.

Unite to Care are ordinary people who got together in February,  after hearing  the news that  300 beagle puppies had been imported into the UK for use in medical testing.   All of the artwork was created by members, inspired by their campaign to make it compulsory for researchers to retire rather than euthanise laboratory dogs, when they are no longer useful.

557990_10151544203302283_2018869148_nTheir commitment to the thousands of dogs who die in UK laboratories each year shone through in their artwork.    Pieces were diverse and imaginative and included colourful oil paintings, thought provoking photography and quirky drawings.

All pieces were auctioned at the event, raising a fantastic £600 with every penny going towards the campaign.

Due to its success they are holding another event on the 8th Sept in Manchester.
