I really hope This Is Green Liverpool is a success, its a good idea and deserves support. We’ll be there on Saturday.
This is Green Liverpool’s launch event called ‘Down at the Bottom of the Garden’ is the first event of its kind launching on Saturday 21st August 2010 at The Bluecoat and Church Alley 11.00 – 17.00. Organised by a team of passionate volunteers it’s set to bring the streets alive with delights for all the family with music, art, drama, dance, crafts, food, drink and weird and wonderful acts from across Merseyside, whilst raising awareness of what’s green and going on in the city of Liverpool.
As well as entertainments and animations, there will also be a barbeque taking place and stalls with products and services available to buy to be greener at home, plus freebies and lots of information about what’s going on, where and why. The schedule of entertainments will be on www.thisisgreenliverpool.com
Ged Gibbons the Chief Executive of City Central BID quoted “I am delighted to support This is Green Liverpool’s message, as we are also enforcing it as part of the strategy at City Central BID. I personally will be heading down to the event with my family to take advantage of the fun and as it’s in the heart of the retail area I’m sure my wife will be pleased too!”
Tim Cope the Director of This Green Liverpool said “This is Green Liverpool Ltd is a voluntary organisation, whereby all of the volunteers have come from all walks of life helping to make each event unique and dynamic. Our message is ultimately about taking pride in Liverpool being a green city. I am so grateful for all the volunteers hard work as well as the support of Liverpool Vision, City Central BID, the School for Social Entrepreneurs, The Bluecoat and Liverpool City Council’s Year of Health and Wellbeing 2010, who have extended huge offers of support in making this event a reality”
