Bluecoat Arts Centre gears up for tenant recruitment drive.
Business Development Manager joins the all-new marketing team.
Bluecoat Arts Centre has appointed new Business Development Manager, Lynne Robertson, to drive the organisation’s tenant recruitment activity.
Scottish born Lynne moved to Liverpool twelve years ago after completing her degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. She has worked in the creative industries in Liverpool for almost a decade, in which time she set up her own independent fashion label and was involved in a number of export missions to places such as New York and Cape Town.
Lynne has spent the last two and a half years working for Train 2000, a social enterprise helping women on Merseyside become self-employed, providing business planning support, advice and training.
Following a £12.5 million redevelopment, Bluecoat Arts Centre will reopen to the public in early 2008 as a centre for creativity in the heart of Liverpool, with retail, creative industry and artist occupants.
With commercial, creative industry and artistic space in the city centre at a premium, the organisation is offering a unique, accessible and inspirational environment for retailers, creatives and artists to base their businesses.
Lynne comments, ‘I’m hugely excited to join the Bluecoat team at this stage in the redevelopment. The creative industries are a huge part of what makes Liverpool unique and exciting, and we have an opportunity as Bluecoat reopens to support the diverse mix of artists and creative businesses that want to work in the city. The Bluecoat will be a hub for the creative industries, a place where practitioners can develop ideas, inspire others, be supported and be given encouragement to grow and prosper. It will also be a place of inspiration for those who visit.’
Lynne joins Bluecoat’s two recently appointed members of the marketing team. Antony Pickthall, acting Head of Marketing, has worked in arts marketing since 1988, working for the Library Theatre Company, Manchester; Byre Theatre, St. Andrews; London Bubble Theatre Company and most recently, the Centre for Performance Research (CPR), Aberystwyth.
“I am delighted to be working on the launch of the new Bluecoat and to be in Liverpool for the run-up to 2008. Bluecoat is a landmark building that embodies the spirit of innovation in the arts that abounds in this Capital of Culture.
