Sefton Performing Arts and Creative Education Centre – competing for Best Arts Project
Liverpool’s SPACE offers young people a place to develop their skills in drama, dance, music, visual arts, new media and more besides, helping them to build their confidence and abilities.
The project provides access to art rooms, two dance and performance studios, a recording studio and an IT room, which are used by many on a daily basis. Using a three-year Lottery grant to run even more courses, all free of charge, the Lottery grant has increased the range of activities available, and has also paid for two additional members of staff.
As well as running workshops every evening, the centre also puts on a large-scale event at least once a month, which could be a band night, talent show, dance performance or a musical.
