Its Comic Relief Red Nose Day today, don’t know what else is going on but there’s a few things at the Albert Dock today and tomorrow….
The Albert Dock is celebrating the UK’s biggest ever Red Nose Day with some giant fundraising events of its own.
On Friday 16 March the Dock’s attractions, bars, restaurants, shops and ships will be working together to raise money for Comic Relief in some spectacular ways.
The Beatles Story visitor attraction, based at the Albert Dock is holding a giant John and Yoko style ‘bed-in’ at the Dock’s Britannia Pavilion.
Staff from the Beatles themed attraction came up with the idea and they will take turns to hold a marathon bed-in session on 16 and 17 March. On both days there will be at least two people lying in the bed non-stop between 9am and 9pm.
The Albert Dock’s Premier Travel Inn has kindly donated a bed to host the fundraising sleep activity. Collection buckets will be placed near the bed-in and within the Beatles Story shop. Staff will don John and Yoko style costumes to get in to the bed-in spirit.
The multi-award winning visitor experience, which charts the success of Liverpool’s Fab Four will also place red noses on all Beatles waxworks within the exhibition.
The fundraising fun continues in the water as ten of the boats moored at the Dock will ‘wear’ extra large red noses. On Friday 16 March both crew and their cruisers will don red noses to raise cash for Comic Relief. Huge waterproof red noses have been specially fashioned for the boats.
On Comic Relief night Baby Blue is offering two tickets for the price of one at Comedy Central, their live comedy night.
Liverpool Pictures is offering customers 10% off everything in the shop from 16-18 March
and maritime retailer Nauticalia is offering a range of big savings to visitors who support the Dock’s fundraising activities from 16-18 March.
