SATURDAY 6 June 2009, 12.00 – 13.30 in Liverpool city centre
This year no petrol or diesel vehicles are permitted in the parade; all participants will be on foot, pedalling, wheeling or pushing their floats and structures. The parade starts from Pall Mall at 12 noon and will travel through Lord Street at approx 12.30pm passing the Town Hall at approx 1pm and finish back at Pall Mall by 1.30pm. Download a Map of the Parade Route here
The five themed parade sections focus on Environmental Issues and endangered species :
The Sun, The Rainforest, The Ocean, The Antarctic, The Cosmos
Liverpool Lantern Company in collaboration with LUXe and Liverpool City Council, have been working together with 20 diverse child, youth and community organisations from around the city creating costumes, music, choreographed dance and large scale puppets/ floats to bring the theme of ‘Children and the Environment’ to life on the streets of Liverpool.Â
