The Open Culture website has been launched.
You can now visit the site at http://www.culture.org.uk
It provides an unmoderated space for users to engage with culture, create culture and spark cultural debates!
Besides being home to Cultural Clearing (which can be found on the right), all of the Open Culture Projects will be featured on the site and users can create their own cultural content including videos, words, pictures and sounds and give others the chance to comment. There’s also a handy DIY culture section giving advice on things like recording your own music, taking better photographs and making your own films.
“If you’re looking for help to get your cultural project off the ground, Cultural Clearing will try to match you with people or organisations that would like to offer support. It’s not about the usual arts grants – it’s about the projects that often get missed by the traditional support and funding processes.
Maybe you need a company to sponsor your theatre performance for an extra night or perhaps you’re just looking for somewhere to exhibit your paintings? Cultural Clearing will try to put you in touch with someone that can help.
Likewise if you’re a person or organisation offering support Cultural Clearing will let you see the ideas being put forward so you can choose the ones you want to help be a success.”
