New Artist Added – Katherine Doran

Latest addition to the Liverpool artists directory is Katherine Doran who graduated from Hope university in 2004. I particularly like her large charcoal abstracts.
She says…
“The majority of my recent work has been a combination of abstract paintings and drawings based on random and accidental mark making with more detail added later. Some of my drawings are based on hanging fabrics and paper constructions, these could be viewed as plant or animal/insect forms. For the paintings I worked in a different style, they have layering and a gradual building up of images with flowing and blending of colours. They have a similarity to surrealist automatic drawings.”
