GRAND PRINCESS IS LARGEST PASSENGER SHIP EVER TO VISIT LIVERPOOL
Princess Cruises to visit city tomorrow for first time

Tomorrow, Wednesday 11 June 2008, sees the arrival of the largest passenger ship ever to visit Liverpool as Grand Princess, one of Princess Cruises’ superliners sails into the port as part of a 12 day long tour around the British Isle.

Carrying 2,600 passengers, a massive 950 ft long and weighing in at 109,000 tons this grand dame of the seas will feel very at home cruising into a city which has such a strong maritime history. With a whole deck of mini-suites, 700 balcony staterooms, casino, cigar lounge, afternoon tea served daily and grand onboard theatre, she offers all the style and glamour synonymous with the traditional ocean going liners built in Liverpool over the last century. However, the face of cruising has dramatically changed over the last 50 years and Grand Princess showcases this perfectly by combining the more traditional aspects of cruising with an amazing array of on board services and facilities including the Lotus Spa, flexible dining across 10 different restaurants and eateries, various swimming pools, kids clubs, sports simulators, internet cafe and the iconic Movies under the Stars outdoor cinema.

The ship will arrive in Liverpool at 0600hrs and will depart at 1900hrs and this is the fourth port of call on Grand Princess’s 12 night itinerary circumnavigating Britain. Departing from Southampton last Saturday, 7 June the cruise includes visits to Guernsey, Cork, Dublin, Liverpool, Belfast, Glasgow, Inverness and Normandy in France and offers guests a luxurious and comfortable way of seeing the best that Great Britain and Ireland have to offer with a huge number of bookable day excursions available.

Grand Princess is the first ever Princess ship to visit Liverpool and will return to the city three more times this summer on 5 and 29 July and 22 August.
