Sunday Crafternoon

5 October                  2 – 4pm

In celebration of Grandparents’ Day, spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon with your family, making lovely things inspired by the Museum of Liverpool’s collections in this free creative workshop.

Exhibitions and displays:

Eleanor Rigby – Created by Liverpool-born artist and sculptor Leonard J Brown, the 5ft 2 inch sculpture has been crafted out of £1million worth of old bank notes. It’s a stark contrast to the ‘bag lady’ who inspired the work, and was made famous by the Beatles song bearing her name. It serves as a reminder that there are still ‘lonely people’ like Eleanor Rigby in this world and we should be aware of people less fortunate than ourselves.

Mi Smarthouse – The newly designed interactive Mi Smarthouse demonstrates a number of easy life devices that open doors, make calls, keep you warm and pour the kettle to help people maintain independence in their own homes. It’s open from 11am – 4pm daily on the first floor of the Museum of Liverpool.
