Eco Housing Debate

Places Matter! the Architecture and Built Environment Centre for the Northwest will also be hosting an evening debate as part of the Liverpool Design Festival looking at issues of environmental design and consumer choice on Tuesday 3 November.

Liverpool Design Festival’s Eco Design Show runs from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November.

Ticket Details
You can buy advance tickets online, right up to, and during the show for Saturday and Sunday, and on the door only on Friday. For online bookings, just make a note of your reference number on your e-ticket and bring it with you to gain admission.

Eco Design Show
Friday 30 October – Sunday 1 November at Crypt Hall, Metropolitan Cathedral

Design Initiative offers visitors to the Eco Design Show a chance to see, and buy from, a thrilling collection of designers whose work will inspire, entertain and educate. Our selected exhibitors present desirable objects and new ideas that consider the environment and energy consumption, recycling and re-using materials to reduce waste.

Design Stars
Design Stars will be launched as part of the new Liverpool Design Festival on Friday 30 October, and will encourage the city’s budding design talent to think about the design industry as a realistic career option by working alongside inspirational, professional designers from the likes of video games giant Sony Computer Entertainment, award winning design agency Nonconform and fashion accessory designers to the stars Nook and Willow.

Seminars and Talks
The Liverpool Design Festival announces a lively range of talks, debates and symposia.
Liverpool Design Symposium
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Liverpool Design Symposium 2009 will take place on Wednesday 4 November at Liverpool John Moores University’s Art and Design Academy.     

The Symposium will once again present an insightful and inspirational programme based on the theme of ‘Branding the City’, with keynote speaker Michael Wolff who has been brought to the event as part of D&AD’s renowned President’s Lecture series.

Fashion Finishing School
The Finishing School is a comprehensive programme of fashion master classes created for designers of all experience from recent graduates to established professionals.

The Finishing School aims to raise the awareness and knowledge of what it takes to be successful within the fashion industry.

The timetable has been announced for the five-day series of workshops, seminars and one-to-ones with industry professionals.
