Liverpool-based artist Anton Dolders not only has an exhibition at The World of Glass in St Helens – he’s also finding inspiration there.
“I think the live glassblowing sessions are really exciting and hope to capture the process in one of my paintings,” says Anton, who specialises in land, sky and waterscapes in Merseyside and Lancashire.
His exhibition already features a view of the old glass factory that lies just across the canal from the town’s award-winning visitor centre.
Anton has exhibited widely in both London and Liverpool, including the Clayton Square Gallery and Gallery Liverpool, where he was resident artist throughout 2011.
He is also the founder of Art for Macmillan that raises funds for the cancer support charity as well as holding the unusual distinction of being the official artist for Southport F.C.
Anton’s exhibition runs at The World of Glass until May 15 2012
