Clipper Race Returns – Saturday, Albert Dock

Thousands of spectators thronged the Mersey waterfront for the start of the 05-06 Clipper Round-the-World Yacht Race and now you can see it return.

The 10 yachts set sail last September on an 11-month ocean adventure competing for the Clipper Cup and after 35,000 miles they’re almost home.

The excitement will be building as Race 13 is the final, and deciding race of the whole 11-month adventure, counting for half of the points its result could easily determine the overall winner.

Find out if the Liverpool crew which includes local residents Claire Daley, Peter Mulcahy and David Dowling can make it home first on Saturday 29 July, 12.30pm at Albert Dock.

What’s on:

12.10 – Jet Ski demonstrations
12.30 – Clipper yachts finish Liverpool 08 Dash at Duke’s Mast – South side of Albert Dock
13.00 – Air Display by Gold Wing
13.25 – Jet Ski demonstrations
14.20 – Air Display by Gold Wing
16.00 – 17.30 – Prize giving on floating stage at Salt House Dock, adjacent to Albert Dock

As well as all of the maritime entertainment there will be street theatre and bands in and around the dock all day.
