We saw these last time we were in the gallery – a really fine selection of prints.
Love art, give art.
Still looking for that special Christmas present?
The Ceri Hand Gallery in Liverpool has a selection of limited edition prints, etchings, drawings and photographs by famous contemporary British artists for sale this Christmas.
The high-quality works by 11 artists including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Jake and Dinos Chapman and Sam Taylor-Wood are currently exhibited in the Cotton Street gallery, and can also be viewed online at www.cerihand.co.uk.
Selected highlights for sale include:
Damien Hirst’s For the Love of God – Print (2009), a beautiful silkscreen print covered in glazes and diamond dust featuring the diamond encrusted skull that stormed the art world in 2007.
A photograph of supermodel and actress Lily Cole (2009) captured by Turner Prize winning artist Gillian Wearing. In the image Lily Cole wears a broken and cracked mask of herself, making her seem like a damaged porcelain doll.
Ringmark (2010) by Turner Prize winner Rachel Whiteread is laser-cut from very fine plywood and based on an ink drawing of a circular-patterned floor. The artist’s winning proposal for the Holocaust memorial for the Judenplatz in Vienna was one of the most prestigious sculptural commissions in Europe in the 1990s and she created Monument for the empty plinth in Trafalgar Square in 2001.
David Shrigley’s hand-drawn Untitled (2009) depicts the artist’s view of the world as an absurd place. His drawings embrace the obsessions, insecurities, moral conundrums and anxieties of everyday life.
Gallery Director Ceri Hand said: “Make a statement on Christmas day with a stunning piece of contemporary art that will be treasured forever. All the pieces are high quality, beautifully made works so investing in one piece is better value than buying lots of cheaper gifts that will soon be forgotten in a cupboard! Pop in to the gallery or visit our website to find out more about the pieces we have for sale.”
Prices for the limited edition works start at £350 and include free delivery within the UK.
