I love this painting ‘Painting’ by Liverpool artist Brendan Lyons (yes it really is just acrylic paint on canvas) so am delighted to see it has been shortlisted for The Sovereign European Art Prize 2007,
A Pan European painting prize. 1st Prize = 25,000 Euro (£16,500 GBP)
Brendan is one of 34 shortlisted artists, who will be exhibited at Club Row in London during Feb/March. Selected from nominations received from a total of 26 different European countries – one of these artists will be awarded the 1st Prize of 25,000 Euro. This will be followed by a charity auction of the paintings at Bonhams in London.
The selection panel of 10 European judges was chaired by Sir Peter Blake RA.
Brendan Lyons was an exhibiting finalist at the Celeste Art Prize 2006 and Jerwood Drawing Prize 2004.
