Yesterday was a big day. September 10th, my birthday! and the scientists at CERN switched on the Large Hadron Collider in their bid to find the origin of life, the universe and everything at the same time as the Big Bang exhibition is here in Liverpool at the World Museum and the Festival of Science is taking place at the University of Liverpool.
Excellent timing.
At a lesser but more personal level we also got a phone line installed in our new office (did you know we have an office? More about that soon) on the 2nd floor of the Novas CUC. We’re right underneath the gallery where the massive Independents Biennial exhibition – ‘Liverpool International Artists‘ is being installed.
Craig Atkinson, was there today, waiting to hang his pictures on one of the walls (see pic above). He very kindly gave me a birthday present of some of his Cafe Royal ‘Zines including the latest, hot-off-the-press issue 4. Lovely stuff, take a look at the Cafe Royal website

The gallery was buzzing today with several artists sorting out their works, its going to be a great show. I saw Richard Meaghan (that’s his works below), Susan Meyerhoff Sharples, Emma Tooth, Robyn Woolston painting a wall in ‘horrendous’ pink, Leon Jakeman sorting out his fragile neon work, the curator Terry Duffy and a few others.
