A POPULAR bakery has opened its doors once again as part of a project to re-energise a Liverpool community.
Mitchells bakery in Anfield closed in January after 85 years of providing fresh bread, cakes and pies to the community.
The bakery, on the corner of Oakfield Road and Donaldson Street, was earmarked for demolition under regeneration plans for the area and the family who owned it decided to shut up shop.
But now, the arts group Liverpool Biennial is leading a plan to spark a renaissance in the Anfield and Breckfield community.
