Liverpool-based artist and writer Alice Lenkiewicz has published the first volume of her autobiography, My Life Through Art – Volume One. The book offers an intimate and visually rich account of her early life up to 1989, tracing her experiences growing up in a uniquely artistic environment and the development of her own creative practice.
After moving to Liverpool in 2002, Alice became an active part of the city’s art scene, establishing voluntary arts initiatives including The Toxteth Art Gallery and later a gallery in Bootle. This first volume focuses on her early life in Plymouth and Brighton, and her experiences growing up with her father, the portrait artist Robert Lenkiewicz.
Blending memoir, cultural history and visual storytelling, the book features over 240 black-and-white images and explores themes of identity, memory, creativity and artistic inheritance. It provides an intimate view of Alice’s life, shaped by both personal history and place.
My Life Through Art – Volume One will appeal to readers interested in contemporary art, artist memoirs, and Liverpool’s cultural landscape.
