WIRRAL-BASED CREATIVE COMMUNITY COLLECTIVE THE SPIDER PROJECT PRESENTS THEIR ART EXHIBITION BEYOND THE LABEL.
Beyond The Label is a by-product of the ‘Move On Up’ initiative. This multimedia exhibition showcases film, music, photography, sculpture, water and acrylic art works as well as including creative writing. There will also be the unveiling of a sculptured life-size football installation promoting inclusion and the power of community.
The Spider Project’s ‘Move On Up’ initiative has engaged over 250 people over the past 2 years. All of whom struggle with social isolation and suffer with issues such poor mental health, long-term health conditions, low self-confidence and diminished self-efficacy.
Over 50 member artists have worked together to produce Beyond the Label in a bid to demonstrate and evidence how life has improved for each and every one of them since engaging with The Spider Project.
The exhibition will run in Gallery 3 from Saturday 2nd February until Sunday 17th March. The galleries are open Wednesday-Sunday 10am-5pm, although there may be limited viewing from 4.30pm.
The Spider Project currently offers a creative timetable of over 40 workshops and sessions each week. The sessions are aimed at improving general well-being, promoting inclusion and breaking down stereotypes, removing labels and kicking back against social stigmas. Spider Project encourages and champions the innate talents that lie within our community and enables its members to be the best they can be.
