OUR COMMUNITY ART SPACE IN GALLERY FOURTEEN FEATURES EXHIBITIONS FROM THE COMMUNITY, THIS TIME IT IS THE TURN OF NESTON HIGH SCHOOL WITH A THEME OF “STEAM PUNK”.

The GCSE Fine Art students at Neston High School have explored the theme of ‘Steampunk’ and made a range of work in response. They were inspired by the Russian artist Vladimir Gvozdariki to make experimental mixed media pieces.

Detailed animal and insect drawings have been combined and decorated with cogs, wire, nails, old keys, maps, sheet music and wax, to develop imaginative outcomes. They have been inventively presented on sheets of cardboard, old bread boards and even on a cymbal from a drum kit.

Please note the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am until 5pm. Download our latest newsletter to find out more about forthcoming exhibitions and events.
