Alice Colquhoun: Her Alchemy Matters

Part of Into The Wyld at Williamson Art Gallery

BOOK HERE

This event is part of Weavers, a programme of performances, talks, workshops and readings curated by Dr Silvia Battista as part of Into The Wyld at Williamson Art Gallery. The Weavers program is supported by Liverpool Hope University.

A durational performance that embodies the feminine manifestation of the The Green Knight. In this walkabout performance Colquhoun draw upon representations of the wild feminine in the Williamson, interacting with the public and the heritage exhibition on display.

Inspired by the Welsh myth of Blodeuwedd, who transforms into an owl to escape death, and who Colquhoun views as in tune with and as a magical manifestation of Morgan Le Fey, fairies, and the heart of alchemy.

The performance walkabout will finish with ‘prophetic offerings’ towards the end of the day, where audience members can book in for 1.1 for a spiritual vision with the character. Please select a time slot below.

Alice Colquhoun PhD is a performer, writer, ceremonialist and teacher. She uses ceremony, ritual and performance to enchant audiences inviting them to experience transformations through performance that are inspired by the natural world, using mythology to connect to the unseen and unheard of our day to day. Alice makes work that is intuitive and powered by the loneliness and separation of our species to find ways to come home and root into a deeper sense of belonging. Expect images and narratives of rupture and healing – whilst being transported into wild spaces and feminine song.
