Hooton Tennis Club have generated plenty of excitement with their first couple of singles, and the Merseyside band are now set to release their debut album on Heavenly Recordings. Recorded with former Coral guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones, ‘Highest Point in Cliff Town’ promises to be something special.
Think Teenage Fanclub, Guided By Voices, Pavement, Randy Newman, Big Star, Silver Jews – but birthed in northern English towns in the 21st century.
Join us for Vinyl Station where we will listen to their debut album in its entirety, ahead of its release in late August.
Presented in partnership with Bido Lito, Vinyl Station is a new event series about exploring and celebrating new music by coming together in the communal experience of listening to a vinyl album. Based at Metal’s iconic spaces in Edge Hill Station, Vinyl Station will take place every second Monday of the month and will feature an unreleased album played in its entirety. There will then be a chance for people to share their responses to the work and muse on its place in the broader state of music, hosted by Liverpool muso and esteemed DJBernie Connor, the host of the iconic Sound Of Music podcast
The event is FREE, but booking is essential.
