About Christine Stevens
‘I work in various media including video, clay, drawing and print. I am interested in making as a process which engages us with the material world and makes us more aware of ourselves in the process.’ Christine Stevens is an artist and Gestalt psychotherapist. She is interested in the interdisciplinary dialogue between visual arts and mental health. Christine experiments with cross-disciplinary activities which focus on the experiential and the participative. This involves facilitating groups experimenting with making as a means of self- recognising, inter-relating and responding.
Following a PhD in Social Science, Christine worked as a mental health social worker before returning to university to study Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University, graduating in 2014. Her recent exhibitions include In Return at SIA Gallery Sheffield and re-turning at AirSpace Gallery, Stoke-On-Trent. She is the Director of Clay Studio at Primary, Nottingham.
