About Blue Room
Blue Room is Bluecoat’s inclusive arts programme for learning disabled adults. Since 2008, Blue Room artists have met at the gallery to explore exhibitions, creating work in response both collaboratively and individually.
Blue Room members are supported to develop creative and social skills, building confidence and greater independence. The programme explores a wide range of media and creative expression including drawing, painting, textiles, photography, sculpture, animation and performance.
Recent exhibitions at Bluecoat include Blue Room at Ten, a group show featuring ceramics and prints created by 35 Blue Room artists, and Studio Me by Joshua Henderson and Veronica Watson which explored a new approach to supporting individual members with their artistic development.
Bluecoat is an arts centre in the heart of Liverpool, offering a year-round programme of exhibitions and a range of music, dance, literature, live art and heritage activities and events.
