Join artist Sarah Jane Richards in our first socially distanced outdoor sketching course!

Calderstones Park is a stunning park in South Liverpool boasting woodland, lakes, fields, and beautiful Japanese and old English gardens.

This sketching session is a mixed ability class suitable for practising artists who want to experience drawing in this unique location or beginner’s looking to learn useful skills to help record and celebrate the world around them.

Sunday mornings, 11am – 1pm, August 16th AND August 30th 2020 (£25 per session).

We have introduced a range of safety measures to keep everyone as safe and comfortable as possible. We ask you to please respect social distancing guidelines, your tutor will be keeping their distance too.

Participant numbers are limited to 6 per course, this will allow everyone to feel comfortable keeping a safe distance working outdoors.

Each participant will need to bring their own materials, and will only handle their own work and tools throughout the course.

Programme

Drawing what you see in nature is the perfect tool to achieve calm and contentment with the world. Relax into creativity in sketching in the park, led by professional artist Sarah-Jane Richards.

Participants will explore how sketching, drawing and mark making from observation whilst walking in the beautiful leafy grounds of Calderstones Park offers a soothing and stress-reducing experience. Suitable for all levels and abilities.

Materials

You will need to bring a set of drawing pencils, erasers and an A4 or A3 sketch book.

Notes:

A large shopping bag is ideal for transporting materials around the park. If desired you may want to bring a portable chair or blanket to sit on while drawing.

Toilets: Unfortunately there will be NO access to any indoor / toilet facilities throughout this course.

There are a maximum of 6 places available on each session, so early booking is essential.

Cancellations / Refunds

Once you have made your course booking your are committed to it. This is because our courses have very small student numbers, and often sell-out and are unavailable to others. Therefore any cancellations may result in a place not being filled, or a course not being able to run.

Cancellations are permitted up to 30 days before the start of a course, and a full refund will be issued. Refunds will not be made for cancellations less than 30 days before the start of a course. If you are unable to attend due to illness, personal or professional commitments you do not have the right to a refund.

If you wish to cancel your place on a course that has not yet started and you have a friend or colleague who can take your place we can accommodate this substitution.
