How to Illustrate a Short Story

Sundays 16, 23 February and 1 March, 11am – 5pm.
Learn how to illustrate your own compelling short stories with Financial Times illustrator, Phil Disley.

Do you love writing and want to learn how to create your own illustrations? Or explore the world of illustration using your favourite stories as inspiration?

Programme: Taught by a professional illustrator and Financial Times cartoonist, the first of the three day course will be spent investigating the story, gaining an understanding the plot, picking out characters and planning playful illustrations which will effectively depict the storyline.

In days two and three, participants will focus on developing the appropriate approach and treatment for the finished illustration in a variety of media.

Materials: You will need to bring some of your own materials for the duration of the course. Materials lists will be provided 2-3 weeks before the course begins. If you require this list earlier, please email info@dot-art.com.
