” ‘Gender dilemmas: negotiating femininity and masculinity in contemporary night life’ takes a feminist perspective and is underpinned by my doctorate and university research into UK drinking culture and gender relations in night life settings.
The art work is methodologically, theoretically and empirically informed with each piece being underpinned by social theory, a review of the academic literature, research data (e.g. media analysis) and the practices of my research participants. The exhibition will showcase photography, sculpture, installation, sound and collected items.
