Return to Awen is a multimedia exhibition inspired by the mystical tale of Ceridwen and her legendary cauldron.
“Awen,” a Welsh word signifying breath and ultimate source of inspiration and knowledge, underpins this body of work. Art Therapists Vicky Crossley and Miriam Sakwa bring this ancient narrative to life through the lense of alchemy, transformation, and archetypal symbolism. Their work draws attention to the esoteric origins of symbols and explores how images, gestures, and materials carry layered histories that transcend culture and time.
Building on their original exhibition at the Bridewell last year, Miriam and Vicky now revisit and expand the story of Ceridwen, amplifying their ideas within a larger gallery space. Here, Return to Awen becomes a more immersive and evolving experience, one that invites viewers not only to witness transformation, but to recognise their own place within these enduring cycles of becoming.
