ARTIST TALK: HAMDE ABU RAHMA
Sunday 21 August / 4pm-5pm / Free / Booking Required
Palestinian photo-journalists Hamde Abu Rahma will discuss his life and work in a country torn by conflict.
Hamde was brought up in West Bank village of Bil’in, a village at the forefront of the Palestinian non-violent resistance movement. The untimely death of his cousin provoked him to document the daily struggles for those living in Palestine, placing himself amidst the violence connected to the Israeli occupation, however Hamde remains a strong advocate of peaceful resistance.
Hamde’s reputation extends beyond Palestine – his book Roots Run Deep: Life in Occupied Palestine (2013) has been successful across Europe and the US, and his exhibition Shooting the Occupation is currently touring the UK.
The event is free, however booking is required.
