No matter what medium you enjoy using, be it paint, pastel or clay, learning the fundamental drawing techniques will further develop your natural drawing ability.

This 10-week art course is designed to develop observational and expressive drawing techniques and skills. This course is suitable for beginners or those wishing to explore aspects of their own practice.

Tuesday evenings from 6pm-8pm, starting 23rd April

2. Observation – how we observe the world

3. Synchronising the hand with the eye

4. Tone and shading

5. Composition and scale

6. Marks into meaning, loosening up

7. Inspiration from other artists work

8. Introduction to portrait drawing

9. Tactile drawing

10. Still life drawing

Materials:

Drawing Pencils – Grades of B’s and H’s

Masking Tape

A3 Sketch Pad

Eraser

Assorted Charcoal

Pencil Sharpener

*Please note BOLD Place has no central heating however heaters and hot drinks are provided. But we advise you bring layers and wrap up to increase your comfort during the course.

Sarah Jane is an experienced tutor and artist, who has taught drawing to children and adults for many years.

Cancellations / Refunds:

Once you have made your course booking you are committed to it. This is because our courses have very small student numbers, and often sell-out and are unavailable to others. Therefore any cancellations may result in a place not being filled, or a course not being able to run.

Cancellations are permitted up to 30 days before the start of a course, and a full refund will be issued. Refunds will not be made for cancellations less than 30 days before the start of a course. If you are unable to attend due to illness, personal or professional commitments you do not have the right to a refund.

If you wish to cancel your place on a course that has not yet started and you have a friend or colleague who can take your place we can accommodate this substitution.
