David Symonds creates work that is widely influenced by the 20th-century American surrealist, Joseph Cornell. This influence and digital playfulness lead to constructions of images that resonate with each other in order to create sometimes lyrical, sometimes funny montages.
Photoshop provides the base of process, using original photos as much as possible to build something that feels familiar, and new in the same beat. Symonds says that his “intention is to be engaging and hopefully intriguing.”
The work will be on display at Cass Art from 4th-10th September
