If you would like to explore the story of the British Seaside and Modernism, come along to this 6 week evening course at the University of Liverpool.
This discussion based course will include wide-ranging subjects such as art of the Camden Town Group and John Piper, poetry and literature of Virginia Woolf, Stevie Smith and Sylvia Plath and the art deco architecture of lidos and pavilions. We will revisit postcards, promenades and piers, but we will keep our focus on Modernism as the overarching theme and vision for this course. No previous experience necessary for this cultural trip to the seaside!
