Mary Hind-Portley, Deputy Director, Liverpool City of Readers says “We’re so excited to collaborate with Beanstalk as part of this national Read On. Get On. event. It’s fantastic to see so many organisations coming together to give free access to reading and stories to families across the city; not only the organisations delivering the sessions but each of the host venues also giving their space to the day too. This really highlights all the hard work we’re doing to put Liverpool on the map as a key reading city.”
The Storytime events will be taking place from 12.00 – 15.00. Group storytelling sessions will take place at 12.00, 13.00 and 14.00 with ongoing family storytelling sessions throughout the day.
The venues hosting Storytime sessions are:
•Chavasse Park, Liverpool One
•The Dazzle Ferry
•The Isla Gladstone Conservatory, Stanley Park
•L15 Community Gardens
There will also be activities taking place at Liverpool Central Station and Liverpool Central Library throughout the day as part of the Anytime is Storytime celebration.
The Reader Organisation will also be hosting a special version of their weekly Tiny Reads session from 10am – 11.00am at Calderstones Mansion House in Calderstones Park.
