Stanley, Elaine Preece

Elaine Preece Stanley was born in 1970, Liverpool. She studied and gained a BA at Liverpool Hope University before exhibiting in Cheshire and Liverpool galleries. Working as a part time artist came to a standstill in early 2009 to 2010 as Elaine took full time care for her daughter whom was having treatment for Leukeamia. In 2009 Elaine raised money from some of her popular paintings for the Oncology ward at The Royal Liverpool Children’s Hospital (Alder Hey Children’s Charity)

Elaine has since been selected as Best Emerging Artist for a National competition exploring Faith and Identity which was supported by Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service. This was then exhibited at The Mica Gallery in Chelsea, London where they announced the winners at The Saatchi Gallery

In 2013 Elaine was elected a member of The Royal Cambrian Academy Conwy, Wales. She regularly exhibits with them and participate with projects involved with the RCA such as LLAWN.

Ironically, Elaine was selected for the ING Discerning Eye competition (which was exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London) At the same time as being diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa.

Elaine works on her art mostly between the north west England and north Wales. Her studio near Liverpool is open for viewing when requested, Elaine is also a member of The Liver Sketching club in Liverpool where she practices life drawing.
