SHORTLIST ANNOUNCED FOR THE BRAVO AWARDS
For the sixteenth time, Business in the Arts:North West (BIA:NW) is celebrating the best partnerships between business and culture and the people who work in both sectors.
Awards will be presented in three categories, one for each of BIA:NW’s successful volunteering programmes – the Skills Bank, the Board Bank and Mentoring.
The winners of the three Bravo Awards will be announced on 7 October at an event sponsored by TalkTalk Technology and held at the splendidly restored Victoria Baths in Manchester.
Vivienne Tyler, Manager of BIA:NW, said “We value tremendously the contribution made by our management volunteers and this is our opportunity to recognise it publicly. Arts organisations and museums also welcome the chance to show their appreciation for board members, mentors and advisers matched through our programmes.”
The judges had the difficult but stimulating task of selecting three winners from a particularly strong list of nominations. One judge, commenting on the quality of help provided by BIA:NW’s volunteers, remarked “Where would people go for this kind of help if it were not for Business in the Arts?”
Nominations and nominees came from all over the North West, including Liverpool, Manchester, Penrith, Blackburn, Frodsham, Northwich, Altrincham, Preston, Blackpool, Oldham, Lancaster and Glossop.
Each winner will receive a piece of high quality art work by a regional maker, Along with a cheque for £500 to donate to the arts organisation of his or her choice.
